Southeast Asia to Miss Gas Power Capacity Targets by 2030

Southeast Asian nations are projected to deliver less than one-third of their planned gas-fired power capacity by 2030, with only 14.9 GW expected out of a 53 GW target. This shortfall is due to volatile fuel costs, equipment shortages, financing constraints, and infrastructure bottlenecks. Wood Mackenzie forecasts regional gas demand from the power sector to more than double by 2050.
