Suez Canal Surcharges Increase from Mid-July, Raising Shipping Costs

The Suez Canal Authority implemented higher transit surcharges for most vessel types starting July 15, 2026. Laden crude oil tankers now face a 37% surcharge (up from 25%), LNG carriers 19% (up from 7%), and dry bulk carriers 22% (up from 10%), increasing shipping costs through the vital waterway.
